The SLS Hotel is a sixteen-story new construction hotel with an attached event center. The hotel portion of the project consist of amenity spaces for hotel guests, which include; private dining rooms, a 16th floor restaurant and bar, spa treatment rooms a gymnasium, and a 21’ tall video wall installation in the lobby entrance area. Tempest designed and installed a multi-floor, multi-zoned background music system with centralized control system.
The attached events center, now known as the Sanctuary, is a historic landmark church that has been renovated to be a premier event location in the Seattle area. The original pipe organ was carefully refurbished and reinstalled in the space, making it a definite centerpiece in this showcase venue. The sanctuary/theater portion of the project includes new line array speakers and subwoofers, full area speaker coverage, new 16’ projection screen, Crestron control system, and 2nd floor event space audio in the bar overlooking the rotunda.
Tempest Technologies was engaged to provide an initial AV system design based on the SLS hotel brand requirements and client input for project specific needs. We were able to provide a solution that met the client’s functional requirements and at the same time met their budget. Once the system design and budget received the seal of approval, Tempest was contracted for the procurement and integration of the AV systems. Both phases of the project presented their own challenges that Tempest was able to overcome by working closely with the client and all trades involved.
